HYSTERICAL: Oliver Darcy Melts Down Over CBS Story on El-Sayed’s Deleted 9/11 Tweets.
In their collective Trump Derangement, the Elitist Media will grab and hold on to anything they can in order to claw their way back to Regime Media in service of Democrats in power. Most egregious of these are the Hall Monitor subset, who will seemingly defend anyone and anything standing opposite a Republican.
This means that America is subjected to Oliver Darcy hysterically howling in protest because the Bari Weiss-led CBS News had the temerity to point out that Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed deleted a series of social media posts evoking the terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001. What was it, you ask, that sent Darcy to the fainting couch? Per CBS News:
As El-Sayed heads into the fall general election campaign against Republican Rep. Mike Rogers, El-Sayed, a former public health official, has already been forced to distance himself from the views of Hasan Piker, a popular Twitch streamer who has appeared at El-Sayed’s campaign events and who generated controversy for declaring that “America deserved 9/11” before later retracting the remark.
Meanwhile, El-Sayed’s past references to the deadly attacks have continued to surface, including two deleted social media posts verified by CBS News that have not been previously reported. In those posts, he calls for the American public to muster the same outrage for the COVID-19 death toll that they displayed after 9/11.
The report goes on to list several of the posts deleted by El-Sayed, which seems to have been a bridge too far for Darcy. Per Status:
The Bari Weiss-led outlet is being pummeled by a storm of outrage over a story about Abdul El-Sayed—and Status has learned that within the network, some staffers have raised the matter with standards.
Really? Resurfacing old posts is now a scandal? Because this is standard media practice. For example, here’s a CNN item rehashing some old Natalie Harp posts. Did Darcy rend his garments, don sackcloth and wallow in ash at that time? Probably not.
“Hannah Arendt had it right,” Patrick Moynihan once said. “She said one of the great advantages of the totalitarian elites of the twenties and thirties was to turn any statement of fact into a question of motive.”

YES: Every State Needs To Follow Florida In Teaching Kids About Communism’s Terrors.
It’s no secret that legislating pedagogy can backfire. Often, lawmakers will pass laws about what to include in K-12 classrooms, but they forget to provide accompanying materials (i.e., standardized curriculum, textbooks, assessments, etc.) and professional training, which causes a lack of buy-in from teachers and administrators. At best, what follows is a half-hearted compliance that involves creating a blowoff class or giving a short presentation on the topic.
This is precisely what happened to California when it required an ethnic studies class in its public schools. Beyond the obvious partisan motivations behind such a course, there were countless logistical loose ends. It was anyone’s guess which materials to use, how the classes should be taught, or even which ethnicities to include. Worst of all, the state “never allotted money for the course, which meant the mandate hasn’t gone into effect.”
Fortunately, Florida’s rollout has been far more robust and comprehensive, which should help it overcome these problems.
Teaching kids about the horrors of communism was much easier when we still have the Soviet Union around as a living example.
NOT SURPRISING BUT STILL DISAPPOINTING:
The Clancy jury has told the court that it is deadlocked. As expected, Judge Sullivan is now sending them back. That is a common response to push a jury further. Not surprising given the intense divisions in the country, the jury appears to be manifesting those same divisions…

BELMONT CLUB: September 10, 2001. “Nearly 25 years ago, on Sept. 10, 2001, the left-wing parties of Europe and America surveyed their breathtaking domain. Viewed from their vantage point, the Soviet Union had collapsed, and the world was theirs to inherit. To most Westerners, even educated ones, Islam was an ancient myth rumored to be surviving in distant places. Christianity was a fading force beaten down by Free Love and atheism. With the fall of Moscow, the world was theirs.”

SCHLICHTER: The Washington Post Embarrasses Itself Trying to Embarrass Me.
Before this article came out, WaPo reporter Dan Lamothe tried to get me to comment. He texted me on my cell:
“Colonel, this is Dan Lamothe. Working on a story about undisclosed SGE and HQE employees for the Pentagon. You pop up in the system. Looking to touch base about it today, please.”
And he DM’d me on X:
“Kurt – Dan Lamothe with The Washington Post here. We’ve confirmed you appear in the Pentagon system as an HQE employee and wanted to seek clarification about what your role is. You appear under P&R, so I presume it’s possible the rumors are true that you’re working on war college-related efforts. You have continued to write on defense and immigration issues. Have you disclosed your government affiliation to readers anywhere? Thanks very much. Dan”
Gee, I guess we’re on a first-name basis. Now, I know what you are thinking: “What obscenities did you reply with, Kurt?” Well, none. I did not reply. Why?
1. I don’t comment on my work.
2. I don’t talk to the regime media.
3. Screw the Washington Post.
You may also note how he said I “appear in the Pentagon system” and “pop up in the system.” So what was a Pentagon reporter doing in the Pentagon personnel system? Is that where he got my phone number?
Needless to say, read the whole thing — and don’t screw with a trial attorney who also did standup.

THE ENEMY WITHIN: Higher Ed’s Secret Foreign Funding.
The Trump administration has made university accountability a signature issue, from combating discrimination to exposing foreign influence on campus. Now the higher-education lobby is trying to block the release of major foreign-donor names. The administration shouldn’t give in.
Universities receiving federal funds have been required by law since 1986 to report foreign gifts and contracts totaling $250,000 or more annually. They haven’t always done so. The first Trump administration uncovered nearly $6.5 billion in foreign gifts and contracts universities failed to disclose. The Biden administration failed to open any foreign-funding investigations, according to a September 2024 report from the House Select Committee on China. The second Trump administration restored enforcement and launched a public dashboard for reported foreign funding.
The disclosures show what’s at stake. In 2025 universities reported more than 8,300 foreign gifts and contracts, worth $5.2 billion, including $1.1 billion from Qatar and $528 million from China. The Education Department has identified roughly $380 million in historical university transactions with entities flagged by the U.S. government. That includes $158 million involving companies on the Defense Department’s Section 1286 list, which identifies foreign institutions and talent programs “confirmed to be engaging in activities that threaten U.S. national security interests.” Another $193 million involves entities on the Commerce Department’s Entity List, which restricts access to sensitive U.S. technology. Most of the flagged entities are Chinese, including organizations tied to Beijing’s military and nuclear program.
All foreign donors and contracting parties should be identified. In July the Education Department promised to publish “the names of all foreign sources from prior reporting cycles.” Yet it has repeatedly delayed doing so as higher-education groups press to keep those identities from public view.
Keep pushing. There’s no good reason for foreign influence-buying to be kept secret.
