PROBABLY FOR THE BEST: OpenAI “indefinitely” shelves plans for erotic ChatGPT.

Insiders told FT that OpenAI mulled scrapping the “adult mode” plan entirely, as even its own advisors warned that ChatGPT users could form unhealthy attachments, which might harm their mental health. One advisor chillingly suggested that the tweak risked turning ChatGPT into a “sexy suicide coach.”

Advisors weren’t the only ones seeing red flags, the report said.

Staff began questioning whether sexy ChatGPT aligned with OpenAI’s mission to make AI that benefits humanity. For staff working on developing “adult mode,” it apparently wasn’t worth the effort to overcome technical challenges for the feature. They faced “difficulties,” sources told FT, “training AI models that previously avoided such conversations for safety reasons to produce explicit content.” It was also hard to keep illegal behavior out of outputs, like bestiality and incest, when using datasets that included sexual content, sources said.

Maybe more LLM companies should think twice before rushing new services out the door.

How It’s Going: Gavin Newsom floats idea of mandatory national service.

During a taped interview at John’s Grill in San Francisco, Politico’s Jonathan Martin asked Newsom whether the US should adopt compulsory military service or some form of volunteer obligations.

“I think we have to look at ways we can frame a responsibility to serve for a year, 6 months minimum — year, 18 months,” said Newsom, who did not serve in the US military.

He added: “This notion of shared experiences — I don’t know how else you get this country back together.”

While Martin raised the topic of compulsory military service, perhaps Newsom has another kind of shared service in mind. Flashback t0 2019: Marianne Williamson wants a national mandatory service for people ages 18-26 to combat climate change.

In any case, perhaps Newsom needs to recheck his polling data on this issue:

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE: Blanche says DOJ, FBI has ‘cleaned house’ of agents, employees who assisted in Trump prosecutions.

Blanche told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Grapevine, Texas, that approximately 200 DOJ employees have either left or been fired under the Trump administration for working on the high-profile cases.

He also commented that FBI Director Kash Patel has removed a string of agents who were connected to the Trump investigations but did not state how many agents have been fired so far.

“There is not a single man or woman at the Department of Justice who had anything to do with those prosecutions,” Blanche said. “Director Patel has cleaned house there too. There isn’t a single man or woman with a gun — federal agent — still in that organization that had anything to do with the prosecution of President Trump.”

BLUE STATE BLUES: Washington’s ‘Millionaire Tax’ sends luxury home listings surging 65% overnight.

Following the enactment of the new 9.9% income tax (known as the “Millionaire Tax,” or SB 6346), there’s been an increase in home listings in Washington State. Data from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service shows that the number of homes priced at $2 million or more jumped by 65% the day after Democrats passed the bill compared to the same data last year.

While the total number of high-end homes is relatively small, realtors previously told The Center Square that several clients listed their properties specifically because of the new tax.

The data shows that on March 12, the day after the tax bill passed, there were 53 high-value listings compared to just 32 on that same day in 2025. When the bill was first introduced in February, the number of listings was also higher than the previous year.

The numbers aren’t huge, but neither are the number of people in Washington’s new tax bracket.

It’s an easy call that SB 6346 will cost Washington revenue — but, hey, they’ll have fewer of those nasty high-earners.

#WINNING: Senate approves deal to end DHS shutdown without Democratic immigration demands. “The last-ditch deal does not include any of the demands Democrats have placed on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — including that agents be barred from wearing masks and operate under tougher warrant requirements to detain illegal migrants. The bill does not provide funding for ICE or Border Patrol, but those subagencies already received billions of dollars under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed into law by President Trump this past July and immigration enforcement has gone on uninterrupted by the shutdown.”

WELL, GOOD: International Olympic Committee announces new Policy on the Protection of the Female (Women’s) Category in Olympic Sport.

Eligibility for any female category event at the Olympic Games or any other IOC event, including individual and team sports, is now limited to biological females, determined on the basis of a one‑time SRY gene screening.

Evidence‑based and expert‑informed, the policy – applicable for the LA28 Olympic Games onwards – protects fairness, safety and integrity in the female category.

More evidence that the social contagion is finally fading.
