THE (R) BRAND MIGHT BE IN THE TOILET AT THE MOMENT…:
There is a very interesting mismatch between the elections for *candidates*, which effectively yielded a massive and historic sweep for the Democrats, and the *ballot initiatives*, almost all all of which yielded conservative outcomes, even in the deep blue states (but not VA).

…but conservative policies remain popular.
I got into that a bit earlier today in this week’s VIP essay.

But no one wants to even factor in the glaringly obvious: the US has been under the most sustained information attack by foreign states in decades, if not generations.
Foreign adversaries have learned to weaponize the very protections and safeguards â First Amendment, Section 230, privacy laws â that make discourse online possible. They use our shield as their weapon.
These actors have learned that they don’t need to “hack Facebook” â as the press claimed Russia did in 2016. (In fact, that had no measurable impact.) They found that they don’t need to infiltrate voting systems.
Instead, they have learned to focus on seeding poisonous narratives into virtually every open information system online. It’s not only effective, but it’s remarkably efficient.
Read the whole thing, but understand that the side that argued stripping is a constitutional right did not adopt the burqa by accident.

ONCE AGAIN, ELON WAS WAY OUT IN FRONT OF THE CURVE: The Blue Wave Has Tech Bros Scrambling for Data Centers in Space.
A wave of Democratic candidates across the countryâand notably in Texas, a national data center hot spot and home to Elon Muskâs SpaceXâwon their state and congressional races on Tuesday, including many candidates who voiced opposition to the data center industry. The results have sent some corners of the tech industry looking to the heavens for answers.
In recent hours, data center enthusiasts have proclaimed on social media that theyâre still âbullishâ on building data centersâjust not necessarily in Texas, or even on Earth at all. Instead, they say, itâs time to focus on data centers in space.
Elon Muskâwho spent more than $400 million of his fortune supporting Republican candidates who all went on to lose their midterms racesâhas been among those leading the charge. âData centers in space looking pretty appealing right now,â Musk posted on X in the early hours of Wednesday, after it was clear that Democrats had taken the House and Senate.

They even told Democrats that they ‘put them in [power],’ and did a victory lap with one candidate they proudly promoted on the show.”

THE LAST TWO YEARS HAVE BEEN PRETTY GREAT:
For all the economic voters who punished Republicans, just remember:
(1) Poverty and child poverty are at an all time low.
(2) GDP per capita is at an all time high.
(3) The murder rate is lowest recorded.
(4) Real median income is up to an all-time high of $88,000.

NOW FOR SOME GOOD NEWS: Buttons are back and storage is king when it comes to car interiors. “‘People want easy, intuitive controls,’ Patel said. ‘They want wireless charging. They want surfaces that are easy to manage and clean, keep clean and clutter-free, and they want lots of places to store things. Oh, and the last thing is, they want easy access.’ So the new Rogueâs rear doors were engineered to open to 90Ë to make it easier to put in a kidâs car seat or help an elderly parent into the back. That would be less of a priority for a sedan being marketed at a more image-conscious customer, but vitally important for this segment.”
