THAT’S GONNA LEAVE A MARK:

UPDATE: Sorry, but X’s autotranslate feature is so smooth that I don’t always notice — but which X doesn’t do for embeds. So here’s the English translation from the original Portuguese: “Europe will be destroyed by women who project onto those animals the motherhood that belonged to the children they aborted.”

WARNING! RANT AHEAD! I am consistently amused by this.

“Bloomberg Gives $80 Million to Democrats as Money Floods in for Final Sprint“

The Elizabeth Warrens and Bernie Sanders types (and their devotees) love to scream about “big money” influencing politics, and the sheep who bleat back MessNow narratives never acknowledge this hard, cold fact. (Don’t get me started on Singham and Soros). You must understand that this is not a pearl-clutching cry about hypocrisy: if you say that, it’s your projection, not my sentiment.

My amusement derives from the fact that is simply indicative of weak or no critical thinking skills, a lack of information balance and frankly, intellectual laziness.

Frankly, I’d have more respect for those who come right out and admit that it’s somehow “different when we do it….on ne saurait faire d’omelette sans casser des œufs”

Sure kids, keep reposting those silly “Resistance” themed memes without any analysis of your own. If someone you admire allegedly said it, you’re going to repost it. What’s the cost of a few keystrokes to you? Nothing. (Except the integrity of the electoral process and conversation you profess to be so worried about).

THE FIRST HIT IS FREE: China defends DeepSeek after US ban of its AI from government systems.

The agencies should remove DeepSeek and its affiliated products, as well as third party products and services developed using DeepSeek, from their IT systems, the Department of Homeland Security said in a notice made public on Monday.

The department’s order, dating back to late July, also blocks civilian agencies from procuring DeepSeek products and services. DeepSeek is one of China’s leading and best-known AI companies and its open-source models are widely available in countries including the United States. They are mostly free to use.

The notice in the Federal Register alleges that DeepSeek’s models “present multiple threat vectors.” It said concerns include that its servers are located in China and that Chinese authorities’ could potentially access private company infrastructure and sensitive U.S. data.

DeepSeek looks like a great way for Beijing to engage in espionage and IP theft with the victims doing all the work.

WELL, CERTAINLY SCHIZOPHRENICS, AT LEAST: Feminist snobs who attack Sydney Sweeney’s naked body are hypocrites.

You get the sense from interviews with [Florence] Pugh that she’s a whip-smart free spirit, who trusts her instincts on how far to push boundaries, just as she resisted the industry bigwigs who suggested she could lose some weight early on in her career. She often sports risqué dresses on the red carpet (like the “naked”, nipple-revealing floral Rodarte dress she wore this month at the Klara and the Sun premiere) and once told Louis Theroux, “I’m quite confident. I’m quite happy in my skin. I’ve always been able to make sure that I’m heard.” I applaud her unapologetic ownership of her lovely body and exuberant style, which reminds me of that other gung-ho blonde goddess, Sydney Sweeney.

Except… Boy oh boy, does Sweeney reap a different critical reception – especially from women – whenever she disrobes, or dresses daringly. Pugh’s stance is widely commended as empowering. But when Sweeney chooses to pose naked for an ad, she is single handedly reversing women’s rights by decades. The actress’s recent participation in the prediction market platform Novig’s “Just Sports” campaign, saw Marie Claire denounce her for a retrogressive step that “sexualised female bodies”. Good thing Marie Claire has never, ever put a naked woman on its cover. Except, hang on, didn’t Cara Delevingne “Bare All” on the front cover of their September 2019 “Obsession Issue” (to pluck one of many examples)? Meanwhile the Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ariarne Titmus called Sweeney’s decision not just, “a kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft, but every woman who enjoys sport for what it really is”.

C’mon—this was the news cycle two weeks ago. Last week it was dominated by this story: Shane Gillis Must Be Stopped! (But Not Hasan Piker?)

Woke is conditional, and if “SNL” needed a ratings boost, so be it.

Gillis’ most recent “SNL” appearance found him teasing women who dress in barely-there shorts in public gyms.

“I haven’t been to the gym in so long I didn’t know that women just dress like whores now [emphasis added]. I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe— have you seen it? I’ve seen it. The shorts? Have you seen the shorts? Those neon — they’re like artificial bait colors. The wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look, you’re not allowed to look — for real don’t look because they are filming. I’m in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.”

That’s it. That’s the joke that launched a culture war crusade, with “Schitt’s Creek” alum Dan Levy leading the faux outrage parade.

For that, Gillis must be punished. Article after article after article said as much, coming from major institutions like The Hollywood Reporter, Today.com, Deadline and more.

Imagine the backlash Gillis must be facing!

CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN:

From the replies: “Prices haven’t come down. I guess demand has skyrocketed.”

I know this isn’t easy, but give it time.

HOW ABOUT AMERICANS WHO ARE STILL KIDS AT HEART? Elon Musk says he’s giving SpaceX stock to every kid in America.

Kids will soon have a financial interest in the future of space.

“Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX (SPCX) shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many,” SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said in an X post on Monday.

Musk didn’t specify an age range for the proposed gift, but a Bloomberg report indicated he could use Trump Accounts as the vehicle for his stock donations.

What a guy.

ROGER SIMON: Are the French Riots the Republicans’ October Surprise?

Our ex-president Barack Obama is fairly fanning the flames of disruption, coming out in loud support of the noxious Ilhan Omar. It’s as if he wants to relive the glory days of the Ferguson or the Trayvon Martin shootings. Where is this leading, and what is he really trying to do? I don’t think it’s just winning a midterm election, and it’s certainly not saving Omar.

I hope we never find out. Actually turning the tables and winning the midterms is one way to stop this in its tracks. The French red-green rioters may have given us a gift by providing absolutely every Republican a great talking point in the waning days of this campaign, a talking point most normal people will respond to. As I type this, Trump is using it in Kansas. Every candidate should too. And so should we with everyone we talk to.

Read the whole thing.

Related: How bad is Europe these days? So bad that even Condé Nast’s Wired has noticed: They Fled Trump’s America. Now They Regret It. The internet told them Europe was a social paradise. Turns out the trains are awful, the health care isn’t free, and people can be really mean.

GO FIGURE:

It’s been a long time since I looked at the “Netflix Original” tag without suspicion.

JAMES MADISON ON WHAT SHAPES U.S. FUTURE: James Madison was the chief author of the U.S. Constitution, thanks to his work at the convention and then subsequently in gaining its approval by the states, a task achieved in great part due to his contributions to “The Federalist Papers.” Oh right, he was also our fourth President.

And, as you can see with the “Faith of the Founders” post on HillFaith today, Madison did not beat around when it came to pointing out what the future of the nation he so crucially helped found and then survive growing pains and the War of 1812. Check it out here.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU DESPISE THE MEDIA…: 1 person killed in shooting near Columbus, Ohio mosque, police say.

One person was killed in a shooting near a mosque in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday afternoon, but the shooting was not connected to the mosque or those who were inside, police said.

“We want to make it clear this was not an attack on the mosque,” said Sgt. James Fuqua.

The Columbus Division of Police said they received multiple calls of shots fired in the area shortly after 2 p.m.

“This incident occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex adjacent to a mosque,” the police statement said. “While we are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation as to the details regarding this shooting, this was not a targeted attack on the mosque, nor did this incident occur at the mosque.”

So why put it in the headline, CBS?

Seriously, Bari Weiss has a lot of work left to do.

CBS IS STILL DOING THE “MOSTLY PEACEFUL” MEME:

Bari Weiss needs to hurry up with that cleanup effort.

YOU CAN ELIMINATE A THIRD OF MINNESOTA GANG ACTIVITY WITH THIS 1 WEIRD TRICK: 1 in 3 Minnesota Gang Members are Somali Muslims. “Somalis may only be between 1% and 2% of the state, but they’re between 30% to 15% of its gang members. That’s an overrepresentation of between 650% and 2,900%.”
