I’M EXPECTING AN EARTH-SHATTERING IPO: SpaceX files initial paperwork to sell shares to the public and likely make Musk a trillionaire.

A SpaceX IPO promises to be one of the biggest Wall Street events of the year, with several investment banks lining up to help raise tens of billions to fund Musk’s ambitions to set up a base on the moon, put datacenters the size of several football fields in orbit and possibly one day send a man to Mars.

The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the confidential registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

SpaceX did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Exactly how much SpaceX plans to raise has not been disclosed but the figure is reportedly as much as $75 billion. At that level, the offering would easily eclipse the $29 billion that Saudi Aramco raised in its IPO in 2019.

The offering, coming possibly in June, could value all the shares of SpaceX at $1.5 trillion, nearly double what the company was valued in December when some minority owners sold their stakes, according to research firm Pitchbook, before an acquisition that increased its size.

If there were an actual line to stand in to buy just a single share, I’d go stand in it.

JIM TREACHER SINGS THE GLORIOUS PRAISES OF “CHEESE VIOLENCE:” Japanese Twitter Is Awesome.

And now my Twitter feed is just full of these Japanese tweets translated into English, and I’m seeing how much we have in common with each other. There’s dozens and dozens that I could list, but I’ll just point out a few here.

Probably my favorite of all that I’ve seen… The past week, I’ve been introduced to the Japanese theory of “cheese violence.” Let me explain that.

The other day, a Japanese Twitter user named @hoshizorarock quote-tweeted a photo of a huge triple bacon cheeseburger with what appears to be about a half-pound of cheese on it.

And the caption is:

Please witness the violence of cheese.

And since then, I’ve looked around, and there’s a lot of other people talking about “cheese violence.” I was not familiar with this concept.

And at first I laughed, and then I said, “Okay, that actually fits. Putting that much cheese on a burger is cheese violence. That’s it. You nailed it.”

I am both a victim and a perpetrator of cheese violence.

So I asked Grok to explain if that was just a bad translation. But no, it’s actually a thing in Japan.

I’ll quote this from the robot:

“Cheese violence” (チーズの暴力 / chīzu no bōryoku [CHEE-zoo no BOH-ryoh-koo]) is established Japanese internet/foodie slang for ridiculously excessive, melty, gooey cheese overloads in food—hyperbolic praise for something so indulgent and rich it “violently assaults” your senses (in the best way).

So, yeah, that’s it. They nailed it. Cheese violence. I love it. I’m going to start using that. I want some cheese violence.

So say we all!

SARAH HOYT’S SHOCKED FACE WAS LAST SEEN LOUNGING ON THE LIDO DECK:

Sen. Mike Lee adds: “It has been obvious for years that the same crew who invented the Russiagate hoax are themselves dependent on foreign election interference.”

ABORIGINAL RIGHTS!

THE CITY HAS PROGRESSED FROM THROWING MONEY AT THE PROBLEM TO THROWING MYSTERY MONEY AT THE PROBLEM: Chicago mayor announces homelessness plan with unclear funding sources.

The five-year blueprint features data, recommendations and insight into how the city might address the issue of homelessness. It contains seven pillars to address – emergency services, housing, health, education, employment, community cohesion and systems alignment.

Improvements to homelessness services have already been in progress according to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, but the blueprint will provide guidance for initiatives. The report says it aims to effectively end homelessness, based on a framework called Functional Zero.

Sendy Soto, Chicago chief homelessness officer, was appointed to the position by the mayor in 2023 to lead efforts creating the five-year plan. Her departure from the position was announced by Johnson early this week.

During media availability Tuesday, Johnson said the reason Soto’s position is ending now is solely because her duties had been fulfilled early.

Neither Johnson, nor the report, give clear answers as to where funding would come from for initiatives.

Locking up criminals for a good, long time and aggressively treating drug addiction and mental illness — up to and including involuntary commitment for both — would likely solve almost the entire problem.

Much better instead then to make sure that Homeless Inc. makes a very expensive show of solving the problem.

NO DIVERSITY IN ‘NO KINGS’ CROWDS: Did you notice the paucity of non-white faces among those “No Kings” protests over the weekend. Apparently “Diversity for Thee, But Not For Me.”  Issues & Insights noticed.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Dear GOP — Let President Trump Lead the Way to Midterms Victory. “Trump has been showing them how to win. It’s a simple story they can tell on the campaign trail: Democrats want to keep murderers and rapists on the streets to imperil your families, and Republicans want to remove the threat. If the threat is in the country illegally, we want to send them home.”

IT’S GOOD TO BE THE NOMENKLATURA:

From the linked report: “Rep. Eric Swalwell and his wife consistently brought in an income in the top 5% of Washington, D.C., households from 2021 to 2024 but made cash-raising moves anyway: drawing down retirement accounts, delaying federal tax payments and spending heavily on child care through campaign funds, according to tax returns and campaign finance filings.”

Swalwell has never held a private-sector job.

SCHLICHTER: Our Own Ruling Class Desperately Wants to Lose This War. “What’s more treacherous and treasonous than wishing your own country gets defeated in war, especially by a bunch of goat-molesting seventh-century pagan savages whose primitive mindset is matched only by their grotesque perversions? Well, the disgusting perversions part is merely a collateral reason why members of America’s donkey party seem to have such an affinity for Iran’s rulers – the mullahs, with their bizarre bestiality and grotesque handmaiden dogma, and the San Francisco Democrats, with their furry-friendly gender-spazz grossness, collectively share the worst figurative collective browser in the history of ever. Yet, it’s more than their joint commitment to degeneracy that binds them together in a desire for America to lose this campaign. The Democrats hate America, and they think it will help them politically if America can be humiliated. But more than that, seeing America lose also satisfies the evil lurking inside them.”

Let it all out, Kurt.

IT’S MY THURSDAY ESSAY FOR VIP SUBSCRIBERS: What in the Actual Hell Is Going on in China? “If you ever thought you had a handle on what in the actual hell is going on in China, it was probably interrupted by a story like the recent disappearance of Yang Wei, the 62-year-old designer of China’s top-of-the-line stealth fighter.”

AMERICA’S ‘WRONG-TRACK MAJORITY:’ What is that? Writing for Real Clear Polling, J.T. Young examines the Right Track/Wrong Track survey data and finds national elections being easily won by candidates supported by coalitions of voters who see the country going the wrong way.

But once the opposition-based majority gets elected, it starts falling apart because its constituent elements can’t agree on much of anything, including how to get where the candidates promised to take the country. Intriguing hypothesis that you should read more about here.

IN A SENSE!

BECAUSE OF COURSE: Democrat-led states threaten to sue Trump over voter database executive order.

“I don’t know how it can be challenged. They’ll probably challenge it,” Trump said at Tuesday night’s Oval Office signing. “You may find a rogue judge – a lot of rogue judges. Very bad, bad people. Very bad judges. But that’s the only way that can be changed, and hopefully we’ll win on appeal if it is, but I don’t see how anybody can challenge it.”

Arizona, California, Maine and Oregon immediately vowed to sue the Trump administration over the executive order, Fox News reported.

“We’re challenging it,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted on X on Tuesday, sharing a clip of Trump signing the order. “See you in court.”

Arizona Democratic Secretary of State Adrian Fontes told The Associated Press: “It is just wrongheaded for a president of the United States to pretend like he can pick his own voters. That’s just not how America works.”

Please, let blue states sue Trump on the 20 side of another 80/20 issue.
