SURE, WHY NOT? Pete Hegseth for President.

They say everything moves faster in the age of the Internet, and that’s certainly true of Hegseth. He hasn’t even begun campaigning, and already the impeachment hearings have been scheduled for him!

UPDATE:

But no one wants to even factor in the glaringly obvious: the US has been under the most sustained information attack by foreign states in decades, if not generations.

Foreign adversaries have learned to weaponize the very protections and safeguards – First Amendment, Section 230, privacy laws – that make discourse online possible. They use our shield as their weapon.

These actors have learned that they don’t need to “hack Facebook” — as the press claimed Russia did in 2016. (In fact, that had no measurable impact.) They found that they don’t need to infiltrate voting systems.

Instead, they have learned to focus on seeding poisonous narratives into virtually every open information system online. It’s not only effective, but it’s remarkably efficient.

ONCE AGAIN, ELON WAS WAY OUT IN FRONT OF THE CURVE: The Blue Wave Has Tech Bros Scrambling for Data Centers in Space.

A wave of Democratic candidates across the country—and notably in Texas, a national data center hot spot and home to Elon Musk’s SpaceX—won their state and congressional races on Tuesday, including many candidates who voiced opposition to the data center industry. The results have sent some corners of the tech industry looking to the heavens for answers.

In recent hours, data center enthusiasts have proclaimed on social media that they’re still “bullish” on building data centers—just not necessarily in Texas, or even on Earth at all. Instead, they say, it’s time to focus on data centers in space.

Elon Musk—who spent more than $400 million of his fortune supporting Republican candidates who all went on to lose their midterms races—has been among those leading the charge. “Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now,” Musk posted on X in the early hours of Wednesday, after it was clear that Democrats had taken the House and Senate.

We’ve reached the point where you have to leave the planet to escape the statists.

Robert Heinlein wrote about that very thing a time or three.

WELCOME TO THE HANGOVER:

A DOZEN MUSLIM COUNTRIES HAVE DESIGNATED MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION:

And Russia has, too.

ROOSTER CAUSES SUN TO RISE, FILM AT 11: ‘We Put You In’: ABC’s The View Admits They’re ‘Celebrating’ With Dems. “ABC’s ‘bona fide news program’ The View was in party mode on Wednesday as the openly joined Democrats in ‘celebrating’ their ‘blumani’ electoral wins in the 2026 midterms. They didn’t even try to hide their excitement as they looked forward to Democrats taking control of the House and Senate next year and the collapse of the MAGA movement. They even told Democrats that they ‘put them in [power],’ and did a victory lap with one candidate they proudly promoted on the show.”

THE LAST TWO YEARS HAVE BEEN PRETTY GREAT:

And for that we must be punished, I suppose.

SOUNDS LIKE A WORTHY EFFORT. TECHNO-OPTIMISM FOR THE FUTURE:

NOW FOR SOME GOOD NEWS: Buttons are back and storage is king when it comes to car interiors. “‘People want easy, intuitive controls,’ Patel said. ‘They want wireless charging. They want surfaces that are easy to manage and clean, keep clean and clutter-free, and they want lots of places to store things. Oh, and the last thing is, they want easy access.’ So the new Rogue’s rear doors were engineered to open to 90˚ to make it easier to put in a kid’s car seat or help an elderly parent into the back. That would be less of a priority for a sedan being marketed at a more image-conscious customer, but vitally important for this segment.”

I DON’T KNOW IF REPORTERS ARE ACTUALLY THE WORST-INFORMED PEOPLE ON EARTH…:

…but it’s got to be close.

NOT GOOD; THESE ARE POWERFUL POSITIONS: Dems Flip Secretary of State Offices in Ga., Ind., Ohio. “The election results give Democrats statewide election oversight in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada and Georgia, four states central to recent presidential contests. The victories also extend the party’s reach into Republican-leaning territory.”

HMM:

As I said yesterday, Vance’s post to me read like a broadside against Rubio and Hegseth.

And on reflection, maybe POTUS, too.
