But it takes a minimum of 3 generations), it prohibits salad bowl multiculturalist nonsense, and it disqualifies 90% of what we’ve been getting.  Note even the left uses “migrant” not “immigrant.” Because they know these are people who move around and have no national loyalties. At least not to us. And that’s just not acceptable.

SAFETY IS ONLY POSSIBLE — TO THE EXTENT IT’S POSSIBLE — IN THE FIRST PERSON:  As in, I keep myself safe.   When I became a man, I put away childish things.

Over two thousand years, the church has accumulated a heck of a Deep State. And frankly, a lot of it is because the priests come from good universities and are naive to the fingertips.

A MINIMUM DEGREE OF NATIONALISM IS NEEDED, I THINK AS PROPHYLACTIC AGAINST CULTURAL DISSOLUTION AND OIKOPHOBIA:   Nationalism- Left or Right?  Is Nationalism inherently a bad thing? More specifically, does it fall on the left or the right side of the political spectrum? The answer may surprise you.

THEY ABSOLUTELY SHOULD:  Sanctions Should be Imposed.

REFORMING YOURSELF IS FINE. REFORMING OTHERS ALWAYS RUNS INTO TROUBLE:  The Second Great Awakening, Temperance, and The Reforming Urge.

Or as a friend reminds me (not about alcohol) “you can’t recover for someone else.”

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THREE YEARS I DID A SERIES OF CHRISTMAS SHORT STORIES ON MY BLOG:  They’re now a book of six, reasonably sized short stories, centering around Christmas and (in this case) time travel. I guess I’m working again, despite everything.

UPDATE (From Ed): People magazine are reporting that “Reiner and His Wife Michele Were Killed by Their Son (Exclusive Sources).” “In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, Nick spoke about his years-long struggle with drug addiction, which began in his early teens and eventually left him living on the streets. He said he cycled in and out of rehab beginning around age 15, but as his addiction escalated, he drifted farther from home and spent significant stretches homeless in multiple states.”
