THE PEOPLE TELLING YOU AI IS DANGEROUS HAVE FAILED AT EVERY PREDICTION:  This was obviously true as soon as the early LLM systems a few years ago became good enough that if you tried Eliezer Yudkowsky’s stupid “get my mother out of the burning building” thought experiment on them, they explained how they would reasonably rescue her rather than (say) ejecting her at mach 3 into a wall which was what he claimed they might do just as easily. Once you could type into an AI “if you needed to save my mother from a burning building, what would you do” and a reasonable answer popped out, it was clear that this particular problem was no longer at the top of the list.
