PLEASE OH PLEASE LET HER RUN AGAIN: Even MS NOW Mocks Kamala Harris’s ‘Headquarters’ Reboot. “When you’re a Democrat who’s lost MS NOW… no, wait… when you’re a female Democrat who’s lost MS NOW [record scratch] OK, last try… when you’re a female Democrat of color and MS NOW sees right through your latest B.S. [there it is!] then it’s obvious to everybody but you that you’re not only drowning, but that new life preserver you just bought is actually a boat anchor.”

SUNLIGHT IS THE BEST DISINFECTANT: University System of Georgia requires full syllabi transparency following Campus Reform article. “The policy change was announced in a Jan. 22 email to faculty, just one day after Campus Reform published an op-ed highlighting loopholes in existing guidelines. Under the new policy, professors across 26 of Georgia’s public institutions must post their full course syllabi online.”

I can’t imagine why anyone would resist that.

UGH: OpenAI will reportedly start testing ads in ChatGPT.

A source close to the situation tells CNBC that OpenAI “expects ads to make up less than half of its revenue long term.” Last week, Anthropic showed off a Super Bowl commercial poking fun at OpenAI, saying “ads are coming to AI,” but not to its AI chatbot Claude. The version of the ad that aired during the game was a little less direct after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman called the campaign “clearly dishonest.”

OpenAI will show ads to logged-in users who use the app for free or subscribe to its cheaper Go subscription. The company says it will “keep your conversations with ChatGPT private from advertisers,” but notes that the ads will still be “optimized based on what’s most helpful to you.” Advertisers won’t have an impact on ChatGPT’s answers, according to OpenAI.

OpenAI might not share your conversations, but they’ll surely sell your most confidential data to optimize those ads.

FACTS MATTER:

And the politics aren’t what some people think:

THERE NEEDS TO BE A WAY TO COMPENSATE PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES AND CAREERS WERE RUINED FOR BEING PREMATURELY, UNFASHIONABLY, CORRECT:

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Fly Me to the Moon — Elon Musk Says, ‘YES!’ “To the lay space exploration enthusiasts like me, a lot of what NASA did after the Apollo 17 mission felt like backwards steps. The sclerotic NASA bureaucratic structure was responsible for both the Challenger and Columbia space shuttle disasters. NASA’s recent focus on getting a manned mission back to the moon almost 60 years after that was first accomplished has a sort of Groundhog Day feel to it.”

PRIVATEERS TAKE YOUR STATIONS! CDR Salamander: The Sanctioned/Stateless Tanker Nabbing Gives…if we are Willing to Take …the commerce raiding hint screaming from on high. “So, from the GUIK Gap to the Indian Ocean, the US Navy (and her USCG sidekick) are, in essence, conducting entry-level commerce raiding.”

Plus: “Be ready, because at least in the opening months of the next Great Pacific War, if we are smart and ready, we will be commerce raiding from Tierra del Fuego to Svalbard.”

I repeat: Privateers ahoy!

CONSTITUENT SERVICE: Why is California Protecting 33,179 Criminal Illegal Aliens in its Prisons and Jails?

ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons just slammed California Attorney General Rob Bonta with a demand letter: stop playing games with Americans’ lives and start honoring ICE detainers for the over 33,000 criminal illegal aliens rotting in your jails — including cold-blooded murderers, child predators, rapists, and drug traffickers.

Time will tell if California’s insane sanctuary policies will win out in this high-profile case of the rule of law versus virtue-signaling politicians like Bonta and Gavin Newsom. Of course, we know that the innocent citizens of California will be the real victims if the illegals aren’t taken into custody and given a free plane ride out of the country.

So far, though, Newsom and his fellow travelers are winning this battle. In just the past couple of weeks, they’ve turned loose 4,561 criminal illegal aliens. These are people who have 31 homicides, 661 assaults, 574 burglaries, 184 robberies, 1,489 dangerous drug offenses, 379 weapons offenses, and 234 sexual predatory offenses on their rap sheets. It’s a pretty safe bet they haven’t suddenly turned their lives around and given their hearts over to Jesus while they were briefly in custody.

Indeed.

IT’S ONLY “CONTROVERSIAL DOMESTICALLY” BECAUSE IT HURTS DEMOCRATS, WHO DEPEND ON ILLEGALS FOR VOTES:

ROLL ON, COLUMBIA: She Was Dismissed From a Leadership Post at Harvard. Now She’s a Candidate for Columbia’s Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies. With Rosie Bsheer at the helm, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies brought speakers to campus who ‘appeared to justify’ October 7, according to Harvard’s anti-Semitism report. “A professor removed from her leadership post at Harvard University after bringing in a raft of anti-Israel guest speakers and panelists and few, if any, dissenting voices is among four finalists to become the Edward Said chair in Arab Studies at Columbia University, internal communications reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon show.”

TRUTH:

ANALYSIS: TRUE. The end of college racial quotas is already making America more just. “What exactly is the mismatch now being unwound? Essentially, as colleges made having more black and Latino students a vital measure of their (supposed) virtue, they quietly adopted extreme admissions preferences in the name of fueling ‘campus diversity.'”

DISPATCHES FROM THE BLUE ZONES: Teen athlete says she was sexually violated by trans wrestler – and the school district did nothing.

A couple of minutes into the 190-pound bout, Kallie found herself face down on the mat – with her opponent’s arm between her legs and fingers pressing into her vagina. Hard.

What happened – and didn’t happen – in the two months that followed highlights the extent to which public school districts in Washington state will go to to protect trans athletes at the expense of girls – and even at the expense of following the law.

Video taken by Kallie’s mom on December 6 captures the disgust and panic in Kallie’s face. She tries to mouth something to her mom: “Her fingers are in my (vagina).”

Her mom can’t make out what she’s saying and is on the wrong side of the mat to see what’s happening to her daughter. The referee is also out of the line of sight.

“I don’t know what she said. I don’t know why her face looked like that,” her mom can be heard saying to someone off camera.

Traumatized and confused, Kallie decided to let her opponent pin her.

“I just wanted the match to be over,” the teen told me, her hands grasping together. I could tell she felt awkward even talking about it.

After the match, Kallie immediately told her mom what happened.

“I couldn’t find my coach,” she said. “There were other matches going on.”

As she waited for a break in action to inform her coach of what she felt like was an intentional sexual assault, a coach from an opposing team came up to her and told her something that would make the ordeal even worse.

Kallie’s opponent was a biological boy.

Keep predators out — out of women’s sports, locker rooms, all of it.

BUT OF COURSE:

NO ‘GET-OUT-JAIL-FREE’ CARD FOR LEMON: Just Facts points to three Supreme Court cases, all decided years before President Donald Trump was in the Oval Office the first time, that strongly suggest former CNN host Don Lemon is headed for big-time trouble.
