A DIFFERENT KIND OF SINGULARITY IS HERE:

A singularity of stupid.

SADLY TRUE.

NO SYMPATHY:

JOE CONCHA: The Dan Sullivan scheme: Another ‘conspiracy theory’ turns out to be true.

It is the biggest bombshell to break right before a midterm election we’ve seen in our lifetimes — and that’s not hyperbole.

Earlier this year, an Alaska Democrat Senate campaign allegedly recruited a regular citizen to also run for Senate. Only one prerequisite was required:

He had to be named Dan Sullivan.

The goal, of course, was to confuse voters seeking to vote for Dan Sullivan, the Republican incumbent, by having someone with the same name on the ballot. And in a political climate that abandoned civility and sanity, this gambit proves that rock bottom has a basement.

The current race in Alaska between the aforementioned Sullivan and Mary Peltola (D) is truly a toss-up: Each of the last five major polls conducted in the state shows neither candidate leading by more than two points. Peltola has a slight advantage overall in the RealClearPolitics average of polls with a 1.2% lead.

And perhaps that’s why this scheme to confuse voters into siphoning votes away from the incumbent Dan Sullivan was concocted. Note: The “other” Dan Sullivan, the one who isn’t the incumbent senator, has gone AWOL in recent weeks. He has not campaigned in any capacity, nor has he since announcing his candidacy. He also tried to change his middle initial to match that of incumbent Dan S. Sullivan in an attempt to baffle voters further.

Like numerous other members of the DNC-MSM Chuck Todd tried to eyeroll or laugh the Second Sullivan Theory away, but there’s a problem: Mary Peltola May Face Prison Over Fake Sullivan Scheme, and Chuck Todd Accidentally Proved It!

“Careful assuming only one side does these things. See FL GOP and the state senate in 2020,” Todd wrote.

He’s not wrong… but how did that story end?

In March 2021, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office charged Frank Artiles, a former Republican state senator, with paying a “ghost candidate” to run in a 2020 race for Senate District 37. Prosecutors said Artiles recruited a friend, Alexis Rodriguez, who shared a last name with the Democrat in the race. Republican Ileana Garcia won by just 32 votes out of more than 215,000 cast.

Rodriguez pulled more than 6,000.

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle accused Artiles of paying Rodriguez nearly $45,000. “We are alleging these various payments blatantly violated Florida election laws,” she told reporters. “These payments were intended to influence the outcome of the election.”

A jury found Artiles guilty on three of four counts in September 2024. He got 60 days in jail, five years of probation, and a court order to stay out of politics entirely.

It’s worth noting here that Artiles’ ghost candidate only shared a last name with the candidate he sought to siphon votes from. Peltola’s people took their scheme to a whole new level by seeking out a man with the exact same name as the incumbent.

NEWS YOU CAN USE:

I BLAME THE TAN SUIT:

HOW IT STARTED: Bad News, Abdul. Tucker Carlson Wants to Be Your Bestie.

[O]n his podcast, Carlson heaped high praise on El-Sayed. In an interview Carlson was conducting with Saagar Enjeti, the two talked about the El-Sayed campaign for the Senate in Michigan.

Carlson and Enjeti were talking about how El-Sayed has very obviously and very disingenuously moved to the middle to run in the general election against Republican Mike Rogers. You can bet your last dollar that he will revert back to his Islamic socialist roots if elected. But that’s not how Carlson framed it.

Enjeti said the quiet part out loud when he pointed out that El-Sayed is doing a bit of “shape shifting.” Anyone with an eye for politics can see that should El-Sayed win in November, he’d enter the Senate to the left of Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.), and he’d be just as radical an Islamist politician as Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

How It’s Going: Dems In Disarray After Abdul El-Sayed Features Tucker Carlson In Campaign Ad.

Michigan Democrats are clashing over Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed decision to feature conservative commentator Tucker Carlson in a campaign ad, with prominent party figures demanding that he pull the spot days before Election Day.

The ad, released last week, features Carlson saying he “wouldn’t vote for Mike Rogers at gunpoint,” referring to El-Sayed’s Republican opponent. The spot also includes clips of Fox News personalities praising El-Sayed, part of the Democrat’s effort to appeal to voters who might otherwise support President Donald Trump.

Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), whom El-Sayed narrowly defeated in the August Democratic primary, said Friday that she hopes the nominee will take down the advertisement, calling its use of Carlson an insult to the black congregation where the two Democrats are scheduled to appear Sunday alongside Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC).

Former Obama administration official Van Jones also condemned El-Sayed’s use of Carlson.

“No Democrat should ever celebrate the words of a white nationalist who actively undermines the safety of black people and Jewish people,” Jones posted on social media. Jones also condemned Republican attacks on El-Sayed’s Muslim faith.
