THE ENEMY WITHIN:

WELL, GOOD: 4 more states will add restrictions on SNAP purchases in April. “22 states have additional restrictions in effect or in the works for grocery items deemed “non-nutritious,” like soda and candy. Kansas, Nevada, Ohio and Wyoming have all moved to add new restrictions in the past month.”

MUSK NEEDS TO GET ON TOP OF THIS BEFORE X IS COMPLETELY BROKEN:

X is supposed to be a free-speech platform, not a foreign psy-op.

KRUISER’S MORNING BRIEFING: Too Bad Tiger Woods Can’t Drive a Car as Well as He Can a Golf Ball. “This is getting problematic, and many in Woods’s inner circle are expressing concern. We are all painfully aware that wealthy celebrities have no problem getting drugs prescribed to them, often with fatal consequences. The world doesn’t need to see that playing out again.”

THEY HATE YOU, THEY REALLY HATE YOU:

THE MODEL S IS A HANDSOME-LOOKING SEDAN, BUT HARDLY ANYBODY BUYS SEDANS NOW: Tesla officially begins sunset of Model S and Model X.

In the latest move to show Tesla is planning to eliminate the Model S and Model X from production, the company’s Korean arm has officially set a firm cutoff date of March 31, 2026, for new orders of both models.

This is the first time Tesla has announced a hard global deadline for the Model S and X, as after that date, only existing inventory will be available in South Korea.

The move to bring closure to the Model S and Model X aligns with CEO Elon Musk’s plans for Tesla moving forward. During the Q4 2025 Earnings Call in January, Musk said the two cars deserved an “honorable discharge” for what they have done for the company.

The long-running programs are primarily being removed so that manufacturing lines can be repurposed for high-volume manufacturing of the Optimus humanoid robot. Tesla is targeting a production rate of up to one million units each year.

Never had any desire to own an EV, but I can’t wait to put down a deposit on an Optimus or similar.

UPDATE:

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: Harvard To Borrow Another $675 Million as Applications Plunge.

Among the key disclosures:

— “First-year student applications received” by Harvard plunged more than 21 percent to 47,893 for the 2025-2026 academic year from a recent high of 61,221 in 2022-23. Peer institutions such as Yale reported 54,919 applicants this year, Brown 47,937 applicants, and Columbia 61,031 applications. Harvard isn’t releasing its application numbers for students entering in the fall of 2026 until it is required to by the federal government, the Harvard Crimson reported.

— Harvard, which has been complaining it is so financially strapped that potentially life-saving cancer research is endangered, employs 12 vice presidents. The United States of America somehow manages with just one vice president, and MIT somehow survives with a mere seven.

Well, Harvard has nobody like J.D.

THE MINIMUM WAGE IS ALWAYS ZERO. How it started: Dodger Stadium workers ratify new labor contract

“This is a historic day for Dodger Stadium workers,” said Susan Minato, co-president of United Here Local 11. “As the team goes on to play for the top prize in baseball, the workers who serve the food and pour the drinks have also won.”

Wages for all workers will increase by at least $10 an hour, the union said, but a wide swath of employees — including stand workers, dishwashers and cooks — will see their hourly pay rise by $13.

A minimum guaranteed hourly tip of $8 will help boost employee wages, union members said. As an example, a concession worker who was was earning $18.14 an hour under the 2020 labor contract will now make $30.94 an hour.

CHANGE: E.U. to Tighten Borders, Increase Illegal Migrant Deportations.

The E.U. move to tighten migration policies comes after right-wing parties took power in some countries in 2024, taking office on a promise to closely monitor borders and those who would cross them illegally.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said the new measures will prevent a repeat of the 2015 crisis caused by Syria’s civil war, when about one million people arrived to seek asylum with Germany leading the way.

“We have learnt the lessons of the past. And today, we are better equipped,” von der Leyen has said.

The new policies, known as the Pact on Migration and Asylum, go into effect on June 12. AP reports Italy is providing the model.

Giorgia Meloni leads the way again.
