ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTERS TORCH ALBANIAN GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS:

Violent student protests have gripped Albania with government buildings torched, petrol bombs launched and calls for the prime minister to resign.

Riot police fired tear gas and used water cannon to disperse crowds in the capital, Tirana, on Thursday – the third day of unrest.

Protests started because of plans by Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner, to build a multi-billion-dollar luxury marina and tourism development on an uninhabited island and unspoilt stretch of coastline in the south of the country.

But the largely peaceful protests of the past few months widened this week to include tens of thousands of students who are furious with the poor state of the education system and a lack of jobs.

On Wednesday, demonstrators set fire to the education ministry and attacked other government buildings, including the prime minister’s office and interior ministry.

Albania, huh? Time to fire up the B-3 bombers:

RAVING AND DROOLING: “He’s got an IQ of about three.” Roger Waters launches astonishing attack on James Hetfield over past political statements, following the Metallica frontman’s controversial words at The Sphere in Las Vegas.

Earlier this week, Waters, 83, appeared on a new episode of the podcast The Katie Halper Show, where the host, an American left-wing commentator, guided the musician through some of Metallica’s past politically conscious lyrics, including those on 1986’s Disposable Heroes and 1988’s …And Justice For All.

Halper then showed Waters an interview Hetfield gave in 2007, around their performance at the climate change charity concert Live Earth, where he said “politics drive me crazy”.

She went on to revisit the time in 2008 when Hetfield reacted to Metallica’s music being played during the US torture of Iraqi prisoners (he explained in a separate interview that he was partially “bummed” about it and didn’t want the band “being attached to some political statement”).

After this whistle-stop tour of Hetfield’s political history, Waters is asked for his reaction. “He’s just showing that he’s a complete prick,” he states. “He’s got an IQ of about three, and why we’re talking about him, I don’t even know, because he’s a nobody. He may have a few hundred million dollars or whatever, but he’s a prick.”

VOLDEMORT’S “HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED” CLAUSE JUST BECAME LAW IN MINNESOTA: At least, that’s how the Foley School Board seems to be operating, repeatedly silencing parents advocating for their disabled son simply for mentioning school officials’ names and job titles. Never mind that Minnesota law explicitly makes those names and titles public information, or that the First Amendment doesn’t have a special exception for bureaucrats who would rather not be criticized.

AND THIS IS WITH THE GOP IN CHARGE; DEMS WILL MAKE IT WORSE: Even by Recent Standards, This Year’s Continuing Resolution Is a Disaster. “The Pentagon solvency plan to cash flow these bills includes above threshold reprogramming (ATR) actions submitted to Congress, an emergency supplemental request, deferring whatever can wait, and slowing accelerated procurement plans. This last piece, along with the sources the Pentagon was forced to use in reprogramming requests, poses the biggest problem. Deferring and delaying training and facilities maintenance and using the savings to cover budget shortfalls is exactly what led to the readiness problems and expensive facilities backlog the Department has been trying to rectify. Reprogramming sources include shipbuilding, Air Force aircraft procurement, Army base operation support and missile procurement, and many small cuts to research programs. Again, the same list of priorities that left unfunded for years led to the manufacturing, supply chain and stockpile deficiencies the Department is trying to fix.”
