DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: US colleges slash tuition by tens of thousands as families balk at sky-high sticker prices.

The Post identified at least a dozen colleges and universities that have cut or announced cuts to tuition or required program fees this year, with several private schools chopping published undergraduate prices by roughly 40% to more than 50%.

Emory & Henry University in Virginia cut tuition roughly in half to $19,990 this fall, while Arizona’s Prescott College lowered on-campus undergraduate tuition 55.8%, from $33,960 to $15,000.

The University of Tulsa plans to cut undergraduate tuition and university fees from $54,000 to $25,000 in fall 2027 — a $29,000, or 53.7%, reduction.

Coe College in Iowa will drop tuition from $58,780 to $31,850 for 2027-28, while Montana’s Carroll College will cut tuition and general undergraduate fees from $44,712 to $26,800.

Just a preview of things to come as foretold by the prophet.

OUT: MILE-HIGH CLUB. IN: MILE-HIGH RUB: Intoxicated woman allegedly masturbates on American Airlines flight.

But it’s equal-opportunity misbehavior: “A week before Inzer’s alleged mile-high rub, a United Airlines passenger claimed she was forced to sit next to a masturbating man on an early morning flight from Rochester to Newark, only to be offered a $100 credit, according to NBC News.”

INCENTIVES:

WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS, TO THE PANDEMIC* THAT NEVER ENDS: The Russian Plague.

Some observers scoff at the broken test tube narrative. Given that the incident occurred at a Russian laboratory, no one trusts official assurances. Other employees at the Institute are being quarantined, and countries bordering the Irkutsk region have tried to seal their borders.

Many have noted the obvious parallels to the covid epidemic of a few years ago.

Referring to the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, Nezygar, an influential Russian Telegram channel, wrote: “The situation in Shelekhov, Irkutsk region, where a plague quarantine has been declared, resembles the Wuhan case.”

Except that the plague is orders of magnitude worse than covid, a coronavirus that by now has become one of several strains of the common cold:

Pneumonic plague, the strain that Shipilova is suspected to have died from, is transmitted through respiratory droplets. It has a fatality rate of 41 per cent, making it many times deadlier than coronavirus, which has an estimated fatality rate of under 0.01 per cent for healthy middle-aged adults in Britain.

One can only imagine the hysteria that will reign if pneumonic plague really does begin to spread. The disease is easily treated with antibiotics, but only if it is diagnosed immediately, which may not happen as it resembles milder diseases like influenza in its early stages.

* Or is it?

THIS IS SO TRUE.

THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT: Now THIS Would Be Fun: Kennedy Is Considering a Run for President! “No, not the MAHA guy, and not, thank God, one of the gaggle of off-putting leftists that the Secretary of Health and Human Services is unfortunate enough to have as his relatives. No, the Kennedy who may be running for president this time is none other than the most riotously funny man in the Senate, Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.), who is no relation to the famous Massachusetts family, either in bloodline or political outlook.”

He’s also one of the few naturally funny personalities on Capitol Hill.

FROM TED BEGLEY:  Race to Arcturus (Scoundrels Incorporated Adventures Book 1.

Three friends. One scrap-heap starship. And a jump no one has ever made.

Jack, Kyle, and Adwin have spent two years turning a decommissioned mining scout into something that looks like it belongs in the stars. All they need is a working FTL drive. Then Uncle Duncan offers them a summer internship that is anything but ordinary—and a secret prototype that could rewrite the rules of hyperspace.

The catch? The patents have to be filed on Arcturus, thirty-nine light-years away. And they are not the only ones who know what the new drive can do.

Some races are won in the workshop. This one starts the moment they leave Earth. Race to Arcturus—where the only thing faster than light is three boys who refuse to stay grounded.
